New Leaf YWCA Cafe Manager

New Leaf Cafe has a full-time Cafe Manager position at the YWCA.

This position is 40 hours a week managing our cafe in the YWCA. In keeping with Transitions’ mission and core values, this position manages a retail outlet and coffee bar as part of Transitions’ New Leaf Job Training program

Responsibilities of one of our Cafe Managers are as follows:

Retail/Food Service Management

  • Develop retail potential of the café through marketing, outreach, and fiscal oversight.
  • Assist with licensing, health and safety requirements, and other operational procedures.
  • Assist with consistent procurement of needed café supplies including food, coffee, paper products, cleaning supplies, etc.
  • Manage and maintain the café facility and equipment.
  • Provide outstanding customer service to café customers and stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate financial records of café transactions and provide appropriate reports.

Participant Support Services

  • Assist with the recruitment and screening of applicants for training programs.
  • Assist in the development of training curriculum.
  • Provide hands-on barista training to program participants.
  • Monitor and assess trainees in relationship to required competencies.
  • Develop professional relationships with referral agencies and seek out partnerships for referrals.
  • Maintain detailed case notes, service delivery plans, and other documentation in compliance with relevant funding sources.

General Role Responsibilities

  • Participate in regularly scheduled team meetings and one-on-one meetings with Program Director.
  • Actively participate in New Leaf’s goals to maintain fiscal solvency and provide effective support services, assuming ownership over these ambitions.
  • Assist New Leaf in other aspects of program development and delivery as needed.
