Transitions has an openings for Americorps Individual Placement members For 2021/2022 program year (September 1st 2021 through July 2022) to serve as Housing Outreach and Engagement Facilitators at the Women’s Hearth, a day center for women experiencing homelessness and low income. Americorps members support women through programming at our women’s drop-in center, building trust and making connections to community resources to help women transfer out of homeslessness, substandard or unaffordable housing and then maintain that housing. The position also includes supporting the daily operation of the center, outreach services such as hygiene closet and weekly food bank and supportive services that promote housing stability including facilitating Responsible Renter classes. Members also help with fun community-building, recreational and arts/crafts groups and classes. These are volunteer positions with living stipends. There is a reduced-rent housing option for successful candidates. This position is open to applicants who have earned a college degree and meet Americorps requirements.
